How do I know what type of support I need?
To help you decide whether our services are suitable for you, we offer a free initial consultation. One of our referral managers will arrange to meet with you and your family to discuss your requirements and provide more detail about suitable services we can offer. How much do your services cost and can I get help with the fees?

Depending on the service you require this can be discussed at the initial enquiry stage. Funding options vary depending on individual circumstances for example:- if you need support with day-to-day tasks, your local authority might be able to provide funding.  You may also be entitled to other benefits such as:

  • Attendance allowance – if you are over 65 and need extra help to stay independent at home due to an illness or disability.

  • Personal Independence Payment – if you are aged 16-64 and need help with daily activities or getting around because of a long-term illness or disability.

We would advise you to explore the funding options available to you before making a final decision. You can also choose not to involve your local authority and arrange care privately and directly with County Care. Do you provide a free assessment before we decide on a service?
Yes absolutely, one of our managers will discuss this with you over the phone and answer any questions you may have, if you decide to proceed we will come out and meet with you and your family to discuss our services and your requirements.

What should I consider when looking for a care provider?
You should always check that they are a certified care provider with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and are a known professional organisation, making sure all staff are trained, which is ongoing and have an enhanced DBS.

Are your support workers trained?
All County Care Support Workers undertake a comprehensive induction programme which includes the care certificate. Some of our team may already have a diploma in health and social care or given the opportunity to gain this qualification.

How can I request your services?

Will I have the same Community Support Worker every time?
It is rare to have only one Community Support Worker assigned to a particular customer. It depends on how many support sessions you have each week as well as what staff are on shift. However, we do try our best to keep the number of your Community Support Workers to a minimum. 

Can I request to have either a male or female support worker?
Yes. We work with you to put together a detailed, tailored support plan and this will include your preference of having a male or female Community Support Worker.

Will I receive a rota so I know when my support sessions are? 
Yes. We send your rota out by email or text the week before. We like to do our bit towards saving the planet so we try to avoid printing rotas. However, if it is necessary, we can send you a printed rota in the post.

What happens if I need to contact someone when the office is closed?
Our offices are open from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday but we operate an out-of-hours service which is covered by a member of staff between 7am-9am and 5pm-10pm. The contact number for our offices can be found here.

Do you offer support on bank holidays?
Yes. Our service is 365 days a year so if you require support on a specific day, including bank holidays, please contact us and we can help you.

What else do I need to consider about your service?
We record electronic daily notes for each care visit. These notes will be available to your allocated care manager and support workers, but this is under your discretion.
