Our Service User Sharon has recently been involved in a fantastic opportunity!
Root Experience’s project Hidden Stories is about helping people to share their experiences of what it’s like to live with an illness or condition that can’t be seen.
Sharon had been contacted to ask if she would like to be involved in a photoshoot! The photos would involve demonstrating hidden disabilities and we are proud to say she didn’t miss the opportunity.
Priscilla went along with Sharon as support when they met with Sarah, the photographer. At the start of the meeting Sharon felt quite nervous and anxious however as the meeting went on and Sarah answered all of the questions Sharon felt at ease about the project.
Priscilla explained “Root Experience are currently in the process of producing a free book with case studies and “faceless” photos. The photos show partial shots of the person and the main aim is to create a visual story from the photos to underpin the message they are trying to achieve, which is how you live day to day with a hidden disability.
The photoshoot went very well and Sharon was a natural at taking instructions and posing for the photos!”
We are looking forward to seeing the finished book!
